SUMMARY

This pivotal and customer focused role co-ordinates the manufacturing process from order intake to delivery to the customer. The role will therefore also assist in developing sound Order Point processes for inventory control that are specifically suited to meet the supply chain requirements for each customer. The role requires a person who can challenge current processes, ways of thinking and develop/execute a leaner methodology.

PAY: $65K + Super 

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Co-ordinate production planning activities for local manufacturing to support the Production operations.
  • Co-ordinate the supply of parts: from engineering to fitment to end final product within the scheduled timeframe and on budget.
  • Create workable “Bill’s of Materials” from engineering drawings.
  • Administering the Work Order process, including issuing job packs, maintaining communication to Production personnel on parts availability, monitoring & reporting on schedule compliance.
  • Measure, monitor and report on Supplier performance for in-house designed manufactured parts.
  • Provides effective flow of manufactured parts to the Production activities while minimizing all types of inventory.
  • Work within inventory policy to manage stock holdings, replenishment systems and inventory counts for both local and overseas inventory, where applicable.
  • Buying and expediting of stock for local supply, where required.
  • Updating Supplier price list and details.
  • Assist to maintain visual board for progress of new tankers
  • Assists with Cycle counts and Stocktake
  • Exercises planning and scheduling controls to minimize WIP stocks in the Production processes.
  • Reviewing and closing jobs completed in production and reporting on exceptions.
  • Coordinates the collation of data and information required to update production schedules and management reports.
  • Maintains records of production level and monitors progress against plans.
  • Create, update and distribute production schedules.
  • Coordinate and assist in procurement of material and services.

What We Are Looking For?

  • A trade background (preferred but not essential).
  • Graduate in “Operations Management” type training which incorporates Planning and purchasing functions.
  • Some exposure to using lean methodology.
  • Experience using MRP and Inventory control systems.
  • Planning / Purchasing background.
  • Sound communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Developed planning, organizing and prioritizing skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
